The Art of the Pop Up Book

When we were children, a pop-up book was a novelty, an interesting way for a story to travel through bright colors and intricate paper work. Just as animation became more than something solely for children, the pop-up book transformed into an art form that requires craft and creativity. Bill Finewood, an illustration professor in the College of Imaging Arts and Sciences and the professor that teaches a pop-up making class, shared with us some of his extensive collection, showing what a true art form the pop-up book has become. They show us that you can never judge a book by its cover.
