Welcome incoming students!
Welcome to the Tiger family. Whether you’re joining us as a transfer student, incoming freshman or here for a semester abroad, you’re in for something magical!
My name is Mariella Santiago, and I am the Editor in Chief of the magazine you’re reading right now. I’m also starting a new journey— as a Master’s student! Reporter Magazine has been providing a consistent stream of magazines since 1951 containing news, leisure, information and other exciting content.
Every year, Reporter likes to welcome incoming students with an orientation-centered edition that provides information about RIT’s campus and student life. In this edition, you’ll find activities to do around Rochester, and some on-campus news that you may have missed. The writers, editors, artists and genuinely talented people behind this magazine truly hope you find something you enjoy. We hope you strike a conversation!
We want to hear from you!
As a publication by students & for students, we thrive off of feedback from the community we serve. Don’t be afraid to email us. Comment on our Instagram and TikTok! Be involved! You won’t regret indulging in an active school spirit. Final word of advice: be the one who raises their hand first. Be the one to volunteer to record class for that older student. Be the one to invite your roommate out to that party. College is for learning and trying new things, you’ve been given a fresh start, a blank page, don’t be afraid to write.
We at Reporter are dedicated and honored to be an integral part of the RIT community for 75 years, and hope to continue to have an active role for years to come. Happy reading, and happy learning.
