Over the previous two weeks of recording, RIT Public Safety has responded to 10 incidents on campus reported through the mandated Crime Log.
On Feb. 26 and 27, Kate Gleason Hall experienced two incidents. On the 26th, an individual was reported to have attempted to commit a felony crime, but the crime is unknown and unlisted. On Feb. 27, an individual was reported for making graffiti. These incidents were closed by Student Affairs. Following the graffiti incident, an individual was reported to have committed Petit Larceny at the Public Safety Office; this case remains unsolved. These events concluded February, a month that saw 22 incidents recorded on campus.
At the beginning of March, Public Safety reported eight more incidents on campus. On March 1, a reported Petit Larceny and 3rd-degree Auto Stripping occurred in K lot. In Eugene Colby Hall B, an incident involving 4th-degree Criminal Mischief and Petit Larceny was closed by Student Affairs.
On March 2, a fire incident was reported at Frederick Douglass Sprague Perry Hall. The cause of the fire alert is not logged on the crime log; however, the incident was swiftly cleared, and the case was closed on-site. In Sol Heumann Hall, an unknown individual was reported for unlawful possession of marijuana; this case was closed by Student Affairs.
On March 4, an incident report was filed at the Student Alumni Union for making graffiti. This case remains unsolved.
On March 5, an individual reported harassment in the 2nd degree at 175 Jefferson Road. The accused individual received a five-year ban from the RIT campus.
On March 6, there was a reported Petit Larceny incident at the Laboratory for Applied Computing, which was handled on-site. Finally, on March 7, Public Safety responded to an unlawful possession of marijuana incident at Perkins Green Apartments; this case was handled on-site.
