Fall is in full swing. The trees are orange, the wind is bitter and the never-ending cycle of school or work may be weighing down on you. Not to fret, you’ve got a break coming up soon. Though it may feel like not soon enough.
In this edition of Reporter we explore a lot of different themes. Of course, it’s no “Sex, drugs and rock & roll,” but our writers cooked up something nice for you. When conducting our weekly newsroom meetings, I found that so many of our students are concerned about growing technologies. AI bots that can basically do a whole assignment for you, or help you land that job. I’ve found myself torn on the subject. Is something that is killing the environment and creative fields at the same time worth it? At what point do we stop innovating as humans? Do we ever stop?
Trying to answer these questions can feel daunting. Thinking about the future is scary! Keeping up with the times can get difficult. I don’t have the answers to these questions, and honestly, neither should you. What we can do is stay curious. Keep questioning, keep creating, keep being human— because that’s the one thing technology can’t replicate. As the semester winds down and the leaves finish falling, take a breath. Hang out with your friends. The world’s moving fast, but you don’t have to. Everything at your own pace!
