RIT vs. Nazareth (10/15)
The RIT volleyball team dropped a three-set match to Nazareth in front of a loud, raucous crowd at Clark Gym on Wednesday evening, losing in straight sets, 25-14, 25-21 and 25-20.
The Golden Flyers had 12 kills in the first match, en route to 27 kills for the evening. RIT was not far behind with 24 kills, but also had 23 hitting errors. For RIT, second year Sarah Szybist slammed 12 kills, just three away from becoming the 14th player in school history to record 1,000 for her career.
Nazareth now leads the all-time series between the two schools, 39-30.
RIT vs. Vassar College (10/17)
Outside hitter Szybist became the 14th player in the history of the RIT volleyball to amass 1,000 career kills as RIT won two matches against Vassar College and Bard College in a pair of Liberty League contests in the Clark Gym on Friday.
Szybist reached the 1,000-kill milestone late in the first set on an assist from second year Emma Dowdy, cutting the Vassar lead to 16-11. She is the fastest to reach the milestone inRIT's history, doing so in her 59th match.
In the opener against Vassar, RIT outlasted the Brewers in four tough sets, winning 25-23, 22-25, 25-21 and 25-23. Szybist tied a season-high with 27 kills to go along with nine digs and three blocks.
RIT vs. Bard College (10/17)
Against Bard, RIT raced out to 25-15, 25-17 wins in the opening two sets before Bard won its first ever set against the Tigers, 25-22 in the third. RIT closed it out with a 25-20 win in the fourth set.
The Tigers, who played all 17 players on the active roster, recorded a season-high 21 service aces, while also recording 50 kills. Szybist hit 15 kills, while third year Amy Van Hienen hit .412 with nine kills and six digs.
RIT vs. Union College (10/18)
The RIT volleyball team extended its winning streak to four matches, defeating Union in four sets and Skidmore in three sets on Saturday afternoon in Liberty League crossover play at Clark Gym.
RIT came out firing against Union, taking the first two sets 25-19 and 25-22. Union came back strong in the third set, defeating the Tigers 25-17. RIT took the fourth and final set after a long battle, ending it at 25-23. Szybist came out swinging, dropping 24 kills with an incredible hitting percentage of .595. Third year Amy Van Hienen chipped in offensively with 11 kills, one assist, and two service aces.
RIT vs. Skidmore College (10/18)
In the second match of the day, Szybist was just as dominant, tying her season high with 27 kills, as RIT rolled to a 25-16, 25-13, 25-17 win over Skidmore. Szybist now has 500 kills on the season to lead the squad. Dowdy dished out 32 assists, while fourth year Bethany Davis added 22 digs.
The Tigers travel to nearby St. John Fisher for a road contest against the Cardinals on Tuesday that starts at 7 p.m.

Women's
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute vs. RIT (10/17)
The women's soccer team fell 3-0 to the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Liberty League action at the ECAV Stadium Friday afternoon. Fourth year Taylor Korytko scored twice for the Engineers. Shots were 14-8 in favor of Rensselaer, who had four corner kicks to just one for the Tigers.
Following a scoreless first half, Kortyko put the home team in front just 2 minutes and 41 seconds into the second half. She collected a rolling cross from Dali Alarian and scored from the far post.
Tietzen gave the Engineers a 2-0 lead when she put a rebound of one of Stephanie May's shots across the goal line in the 70th minute. Kortyko then made it 3-0 with her second goal of the game and sixth of the season when her shot from 40 yards out dropped under the crossbar but over Murray in the 75th minute.
Skidmore College vs. RIT (10/18)
Third year forward Quiney Ornellas scored in the 56th minute to give the women's soccer team a 1-0 win over the Skidmore College in Liberty League action Saturday afternoon at Wachenheim Field on the campus of Skidmore College. Skidmore outshot the Tigers 13-10 and had a 5-3 advantage in corners. Walsh made five saves, while fourth year Amanda Murray stopped five shots, earning her sixth shutout of the season.
RIT controlled play in the opening stages of the second half, breaking the deadlock in the 56th minute from a corner. Third year Gwen Neuhaus rose to meet May's cross, heading the ball to the feet of Ornellas, who smashed home a strike from eight yards out.
The Tigers return to action on Saturday, Oct. 25 when the Tigers host Union College at 3 p.m. at Tiger Stadium.
Men's
RIT vs, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (10/17)
The men's soccer team was defeated 3-1 by No. 21 Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Liberty League action at the Tiger Stadium Friday afternoon. Shots were 11-10 in favor of RIT, who had two corner kicks to just one for Rensselaer. Rensselaer took an early lead from Pat Noonan's goal in the third minute. In a scramble in front of the RIT net, Noonan gathered the loose ball, turned and fired a shot into the near corner for his first of two goals that afternoon.
RIT broke through with a goal in the 15th minute; Reverdatto got the ball back and sent in a cross that Rueben Marquez headed on target . Kessler made the save, but the rebound went right to Vincelli who tapped a shot into the right corner, tying the score at 1-1. Noonan struck again just after halftime when he knocked in a shot off assists from Matt Koziol and Nathaniel Gunderson in the 52nd minute, giving the Engineers a 2-1 lead. Esmir Hadzic put the game to bed with his goal in the 64th minute, making it 3-1 Rensselaer.
RIT vs. Skidmore College (10/18)
The RIT men's soccer team was defeated 2-0 by Skidmore College on a dreary afternoon at Tiger Stadium Saturday. The Tigers have now dropped three straight games versus Skidmore. Shots were 13-11 in favor of RIT, who fired eight corner kicks to five for Skidmore. Skidmore made it 2-0 in the 61st minute on a goal by Augustine Okoye. RIT had a chance with 11:30 to play in regulation time when Jurt Spiegel rifled a shot from 16 yards out. Once again, Kisselbach came up big, making the diving save to preserve the clean sheet for Skidmore.
The Tigers returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 25 when the Tigers face Union College at 2 p.m. in Schenectady, N.Y.
RIT Cross Country
Men's10/18)
Fourth year Matt Giannino finished first out of 279 runners as the RIT men's cross country team placed 15th overall at the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble on Saturday morning. The Tigers earned a score of 405, while SUNY Geneseo took first with 96. Giannino continued his incredible start to the season, finishing the 8,000-meter course in a time of 25:17.2. He had a mile rate of 5:06 and defeated 278 other runners. Giannino defeated second-place Nathan Rosenberg of Ohio Northern by nearly 11 seconds to win for the third time this season.
The Tigers will be back in action Saturday, Oct. 25 for the NYSCTC Championships in Pittsford, N.Y.
Women's (10/18)
The RIT women's cross country team, ranked 20th nationally, placed 10th overall out of 40 teams at the Inter-Regional Rumble hosted by Oberlin College on Saturday morning. The Tigers came home with a team score of 267 points. SUNY Geneseo clinched the top spot with 54 points. RIT had three top 50 finishes out of 341 runners. Second year Emma Jones paced the Tigers with a 24th place finish, finishing the 6,000-meter course with a time of 23:02.7. She earned a mile time of 6:11. Third year Becky Greiner crossed next with a time of 23:17.8, placing her 35th overall. Fourth yearStephanie Milici finished 48th overall in a time of 23:32.8. The Tigers will be back in action Saturday, Oct. 25 for the NYSCTC Championships in Pittsford, N.Y.
RIT Swimming and Diving
Men's (10/18)
The RIT men's swimming and diving team opened up the 2014-15 season by suffering a 174-120 dual meet loss at Rensselaer on Saturday afternoon. Fourth year Matt DePalo placed first in the one-meter diving event, scoring 286.20 points. He also scored a 271.10 in the three-meter diving to finish just behind the winner. RIT took the first and second place spots in the 400-yard freestyle relay. Second year John O'Gorman set the pace for the 500-meter freestyle with a time of 5:08.61. Second year Austin Hayes finished third in 5:21.71. RIT took the top three spots in the 200-yard individual medley. First year Joshua Enrico was first with 2:08.68, followed by third year Justin Morris in second with 2:10.60 and first year John Stelmack in third with 2:11.32. Second year Steven Paine finished second in the 100-yard and 200-yard freestyle with times of 50.57 and 1:53.16 respectively. Second year Ryan Facchine and third year Derek Brown both placed second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.97. The Tigers will be back in action this Wednesday, Oct. 22 vs. SUNY Oswego at 7 p.m. in the Judson Pool.

The RIT women's swimming and diving team opened up the 2014-15 season by suffering a 185-106 dual meet loss at Rensselaer on Saturday afternoon. Second year Genevieve Senecal won the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:19.48. Fourth year Colleen Manning finished right behind her with a time of 2:25.36, followed by first year Erika Bushey at 2:31.89. RIT placed first and second for the 400-yard relay. Third year Natalie Snyder took third place in the one-meter diving event, scoring 200.25 points. Second year Patsy Hayes placed fourth in the three-meter diving with a score of 171.75. The Tigers will be back in action this Wednesday, Oct. 22 vs. SUNY Oswego at 7 p.m. in the Judson Pool.

Women's
RIT vs. Vermont (10/18)
The RIT women's hockey team let a third period lead slip away in a 2-1 loss to Vermont at Gutterson Fieldhouse on Saturday afternoon.
Fourth year Lindsay Grigg scored RIT's lone goal 3:27 into the game off a feed from third year Haley Northcote to give RIT a 1-0 lead. Just when it seemed like the Tigers would take the game, Vermont's Dayna Colang tied the game on a power play 8:16 into the third period. Just a few minutes later, Vermont took the lead for good as they slid a shot past RIT goaltender, fourth year Ali Binnington, to clinch the game.
The Tigers are now 7-2-3 all-time against Vermont.
The two teams met again on 19th October, when RIT stole the game with a 2-0 for the win.
RIT is back on the road this weekend, traveling to face Brown University of the ECAC in a pair of games. Friday's contest gets underway at 7 p.m., while Saturday's contest begins at 4 p.m.
Men's
RIT vs. Boston College (10/18)
The RIT men's hockey team fell to No. 7 Boston College by a score of 6-2 before a sellout crowd of 10,556 loud, orange-clad fans at Blue Cross Arena as the focal point of RIT's Brick City Homecoming and Family Weekend.
The Eagles thrashed their way through the game with a strong defense. Second year Todd Skirving and fourth yearMatt Garbowsky scored for the Tigers.
Before the game, RIT wore special warm-up jerseys that were auctioned off via silent auction during the game, with proceeds going towards international tiger conservation efforts as part of the university's Tigers for Tigers organization.
The Tigers return to action on Friday and Saturday, venturing west to open Atlantic Hockey Association play at league rival Air Force.
