ResLife and the Beard Enthusiasts at RIT Demonstrating Success (B.E.A.R.D.S.) want to help you track your facial hair growth this No Shave November. Grow on over to their table in the SAU this Monday for your free “before” picture. They’ll be there every Monday for the next two weeks.

Cello Show, Boulder Coffee, 100 Alexander St.
8 p.m.
Cellos are classy on their own but what happens when you drop a sick drum beat? Magic. Also known as the Cello Show, this group consists of six cellists and a drummer, with the occasional vocals too. Come watch them perform their original songs and some pop covers.

Hope Travels Without a Visa, Downtown United Presbyterian Church, 121 North Fitzhugh St.
7 p.m.
This event, hosted by the Rochester Committee on Latin America, will bring a more human aspect of the issue of immigration to the table. Dr. Nelson Portillo will discuss the findings of his study in which he received firsthand accounts of the journey of Salvadorian children who traveled to the US in hope of achieving the American Dream.

CAB Thursday Night Cinema Presents: “The Blind Side,” Ingle Auditorium

As the end of the semester draws nearer and the homework, projects, tests, quizzes, worry and stress pile up, it becomes more difficult to maintain any hope at all. That’s why it is the perfect time to take a break from homework and all nighters and to watch “The Blind Side.” It’s one of those movies that will make you laugh, make you cry and ultimately restore your faith in the world.

Canstruction Rochester, Baush & Lomb Wintergarden, 1 Bausch and Lomb Place
7 a.m – 6 p.m.
Canstruction is an international competition in which students, engineers, architects, or anyone else who wants to get involved, build structures made out of cans of food. The competition part of Canstruction has ended but all through this week and until November 14 you can come see some of the amazing creations! After that, they will be deconstructed and all of the food will be donated to the Rochester Foodlink.
Cost: free but canned food donations appreciated
Saturday 11/9
Chili Cook Off, Genesee Center for the Arts & Education, 713 Monroe Avenue
4:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Now with even more chili than last year! Come sample chili from a variety of local restaurants for three hours straight. Take a break, cast your votes on the best chili in different categories, have drinks, enjoy the live music and eat some delicious dessert too!
Cost: $30 per person, $80 for a family of four

Vis Viva Showcase, Ingle Auditorium

Vis Viva Dance Company is one of the newest dance groups on campus. The members of this 40 person dance team will be performing the original choreography they have been perfecting this semester. Come enjoy the fun and dance!
