RIT's engineers are second to none, and their racing teams prove it. Reporter sat down with three of the five racing teams and talked about what goes into making their vehicles, how they got started, and where they are at now. All of the teams are mainly composed of engineers, but they welcome anyone with a willingness to learn and enjoys the thrill of racing.
Clean Snowmobile:
With all the snow we have in Rochester, it was sooner or later that RIT would enter a snowmobile competition. Unlike the other teams we have seen, this snowmobile is gas powered, but focused on creating a clean running engine, emitting carbon dioxide and not the more harmful carbon monoxide. Clean Snowmobile had its first competition last year, placing 12th out of 14 teams, and are already working to better themselves for next year.
