St. Lawrence vs. RIT (10/11)

The women’s soccer team took on St. Lawrence University this past Saturday afternoon in Liberty League action and came away with a tie. Fourth year Packaging Science major Kiana Richards fired just under the bar, in the 89th minute of regular time, after some exquisite control in the box. It was her first goal of the season and the second of her career. The strike came in response to a 52nd minute goal by Emily DePoy of the Saints, who was assisted by Lindsay Geier. After a scoreless first half, the Saints broke the deadlock with a strike that looped over goalkeeper fourth-year Biomedical Engineering major Amanda Murray’s head and into the net. Richards’ strike helped take the game into overtime, where neither team could grab the win. It all ended on even terms with RIT having taken 12 shots in comparison to the Saints’ 22.

The ladies return to action on Friday, October 17 when they face Rensselaer at 4 p.m. in Troy, New York.
