SG Update: 10/23/15

Event Management System

Michelle Lazette, the Event Management System Administrator for Government and Community Relations, and Diane Boots from ITS came to senate to talk about the new event management system that RIT has purchased. Before the new system was purchased, research was done by the ITS Business Analyst for two years, and it was discovered that and there is a need for a new campus wide event management tool. The new system will help increase collaborations and make them more efficient, reduce silos, and increase space utilization. The project to implement this new system was kicked off on September 22nd, with full implementation January 2017.

Deaf Advocacy Charge

An issue was brought up at the Housing Forum RIT hosted a few weeks ago. Students with NTID Scholarships require students to live in the residence halls for 3 years. SG Senate has decided to investigate and create a report on the NTID scholarship requirements and make efforts to change requirements. This report is now charged to the Deaf Advocacy Committee.
