A previous version of this item, published in print and on our Instagram account, incorrectly stated that RIT projected a 12–15% increase in tuition. This information was inaccurate. To clarify, none of the percentage increases referenced in the original item apply to RIT Rochester tuition. The figures cited originated from RIT Global and apply only to estimated fees and other required program-related costs for students participating in the Global Scholars program. These costs may include housing, health insurance, and administrative fees, and are not reflective of tuition or pricing at RIT Rochester.Tuition charges and any tuition increases are determined by students’ home institutions at RIT’s global campuses, not by RIT Rochester. RIT Rochester’s tuition is voted on in the spring by the Board of Trustees. These cost estimates are published well in advance to help Global Scholars determine the amount required for financial documentation necessary to obtain an I-20 certificate, as required under U.S. immigration law. As a result, the figures are estimates and not final charges. We are continuing to look into this matter and will provide additional updates as more information becomes available.
