Located at 2833 W. Ridge Rd., Rochester, N.Y., a new 7 Brew franchise location opened on Nov. 18, 2025.
The chain has an extensive menu, with the website stating, “We handcraft every drink exactly how you want it, with over 20,000 flavor options and customizations like caffeine-free, alternative milks, and sugar-free flavors.”
The coffee shop is located near the Mall at Greece Ridge, so there was a lot of traffic in the surrounding area before entering the drive-thru. The stand has no indoor seating/counter available and is solely a drive-thru.
Rochester caffeine lovers flocked to the shop in the early afternoon hours on Sunday, Jan. 18. The two-lane drive-thru overflowed into the surrounding parking lot with 8+ cars in each line.
Upon entry, despite the deep lines of cars, a smiling employee was immediately attentive and ready to take an order.
Unlike a typical drive-thru, the 7 Brew store did not have a physical menu for customers to choose from when ordering. Customers must utilize their phones to read the menu on the company’s website. However, first-time customers may not know this; some may feel rushed and overwhelmed by the numerous options when ordering on the spot.
After placing an order, customers pulled around the corner to the window; however, no employee was guiding the two-lane traffic.
At the window, guests are greeted by 2000s pop hits blasting as employees hand out drinks. A large menu display is located next to the window; this menu placement is unconventional since drink orders are placed before pulling up to the window.
The total came to just under $14 for two medium drinks. The drinks were ready 12 minutes and 30 seconds after placing the order.
The iced cookie butter latte included sugar-free syrups with flavor notes of toasted marshmallow, hazelnut and white chocolate. Together, the combination of syrups gives the drink a sweet, cookie butter taste. The cookie butter latte is a “7 Original”, ranking as one of the seven most popular items on the menu.
The iced banana bread mocha with cold foam is another “7 Original”. The drink is sweet, yet has a powerful banana taste mixed with espresso and hazelnut. However, the cold foam at 7 Brew seemed to have a thinner consistency compared to the cold foam offered at Starbucks.
Overall, the 7 Brew experience left a bad taste in customer Megan Meyer’s mouth.
“I don’t think I would go back, it stressed me out too much for a coffee. I didn’t have time to curate a drink I actually wanted, so I panicked and ordered the first drink I saw. There’s also no guidance on where to go through the drive-thru.”
I personally would give 7 Brew another try, as I am interested in trying the different drink combinations. However, I would choose to go at a different time of day to avoid the long lines.
With 20,000+ drink options, quick service and a fun atmosphere, it’s up to you to decide: is 7 Brew for you?
