Pi Kappa Phi Hot Chocolate Hand-Out, Tiger Statue 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

The weather is cooling, snow is falling and finals are coming, all of which set the perfect mood for hot chocolate. The only thing that could make it better is the fact that it’s free as well!

Avenue Q, SUNY Brockport, 180 Holley St. 7:30 p.m.

Sesame Street may have taught you the basics – letters, numbers, sharing – but there is so much more to learn, and puppets can still teach you! Come to SUNY Brockport’s Tower Fine Arts Center to see Avenue Q, the Sesame Street spin-off for adults.

Cost: $16 for general public, $11 for seniors, and Brockport alumni, faculty and staff, $8.50 for students

Friday 12/6

7th Annual Red Hot Holiday Ball, Visual Studies Workshop, 31 Prince St 7 – 11 p.m.

Groove Juice Swing is hosting their seventh annual ball dedicated to those new to the swing scene. The night will kick off with a free swing dance lesson followed by a DJ lead dance floor and dance performances, not to mention the refreshments and raffle prizes. It’s sure to be a hoot.

Saturday 12/7

Electricity Theaters: Carol with the Coils, Rochester Museum and Science Center, 657 East Ave. 2 p.m.

Technology can’t run without electricity and RIT students can’t run without seeing Electricity Theater’s holiday themed performance, Carol with the Coils. Come watch the theater’s Tesla coils “sing” for the first time this season and maybe spend some time exploring the museum and science center too!

Cost: Free with museum admission: $13 for adults, $12 for students and seniors, $11 for ages 3 to 18

Sunday 12/8

Music of Poland, University of Rochester Strong Auditorium, River Campus 3 p.m.

With finals coming up far too quickly, there is no better time to take a break and listen to some relaxing, classical Polish music. Maria Rączka and Ivanka Driankova will play selections from multiple Polish composers on the violin and piano respectively.
